Silver Night Stereo or Stereo Integrated Printed Circuit Board Power Amplifier

5/5

Audion Silver Night Mk1  PCB 300B stereo power amplifier and
integrated stereo power amplifier.

Audion Silver Night Mk1 300B PCB stereo is our entry level amplifer in the intermediate range, using the well known 300B tubes. This amplifier is hand built on a quality substrate pcb (printed circuit board). The triode based Silver Night stereo amp uses no (zero) feedback in the design. The chassis is black powder coated aluminum as is the transformer cover. The top plate and badge are mirror finished stainless steel.

The Silver Night range represents our intermediate level range, still affordable and using quality British, European or American components. The entire range of Silver Nights all reproduce truly and faithfully fast transients and beautifully musicality. Like all of our amps, no bloated bass or “tinny top end” Just perfect reproduction of finite detail that bring a total listening experience, and work with a wide range of loudspeakers that truly exhibit all of the subtleties, details and nuances that valves with a zero feedback design give.
“Yes – its a great amp” – Constantine Soo

The Silver Night is a detail retrieval machine which benefits almost every aspect of performance, from dynamics to dimensionality. All recordings I listened to had a layer of haze removed. Whether from the simple circuit, or point-to-point wiring, or high quality parts, or all triode tubes, the Silver Night might be the most transparent amp I’ve used.

Heard this Silver Night Mk1 PCB 300B alongside the Cary CAD300SEI and it blew the Cary out of the water. Much cheaper, but fuller sound; full 300B triode wonders flows from the Audion

The sound was a contrast, detailed and extremely musical. There was no slowness and desire to lull the listener, for which I dislike for a directly heated triode single end.

The Audion Silver Night Mk1 is all music and beauty—rich and warm, with an ever so slightly euphonic midrange. The Audion allows the listener to relax and be enveloped with their choice of musical drug. It will not reveal every last detail hidden deep in your discs, but that’s okay if you’d rather listen to music than to the bits and pieces. Sure, with the pcb version you give up a touch of clarity and transparency, along with some treble energy, and no, the Audion will never really plum the depths of the bass region with the tightness, speed, and clarity of our Clayton M70s, but let me tell you, the Audion never failed to amaze me with what it could do musically or sonically
